Charles Smart – it’s a psuedonym and we aren’t telling – has told a fascinating
story from the Cold War era. Charles had plenty of ideas to sell his books,
including a reader offer for travellers between the UK and Sweden through a
certain airline’s inflight magazine.
Cynthia Morey is a performer, producer and leading light in the Gilbert and
Sullivan Society. She self-published A World That’s All Our Own – her first novel
and a book of enormous interest to G&S fans everywhere. Cynthia also joined
up with colleague John Fryatt to publish the script of a G&S-based production
they have written and performed, the Sleeping Beauty of Savoy. Cynthia’s
latest is her autobiographical account of World War 2, Dark is the Dawn, a tale
of an ordinary family living through extraordinary times. Cynthia chose to
publish in hardback with a black and white photo section.
